Ipswich, 20/02/2022 - IJYI, a leading Ipswich-based software development business has today announced that after eight successful years as co-founder and CEO of IJYI, Chris Pont is taking a new role as Chairman of the business, also focusing on technical consultancy.
Kev Linsell, who has worked as IJYI’s sales and marketing director since 2020, has been named the company’s new CEO. He brings an extensive track record of success, including senior technical and leadership roles with the likes of QA, Timico, Computacenter, Datapipe and BT.
IJYI was co-founded by Pont in 2014, and as the business grew, he continued to be involved in pre-sales, technical strategy, support and architectural oversight and governance on major projects. During the last two years, he has been focused more heavily on business leadership, and today, with IJYI on track to deliver a record financial year for new sales, he is returning to focus on his lifelong passion for technology.
Moving to his new role enables Pont to undertake chair and consultant responsibilities. Linsell also continues to lead the sales and marketing department and is supported by a strong existing management team.
Commenting on the announcement, Chris Pont said: “I am delighted to be making this move, which enables me to focus on helping our customers benefit from our considerable software development and data expertise. Kev is the ideal choice to take over day-to-day leadership of the business, and since joining IJYI, his influence has been instrumental in our growth and strategic development. I look forward to the years ahead with tremendous confidence.”
Kev Linsell, IJYI CEO, commented: “Chris has built a wonderful business and team. There are many achievements he should be proud of and much more to come with him working at the heart of our technical teams. I’m excited by the opportunity to lead IJYI as we build on a successful period of growth.”
In addition, Kevin Ward has also joined the IJYI leadership team as Chief Financial Officer. Kevin has broad experience at board level, built over the last ten years since leaving his role as a regional head and relationship Director at Barclays Corporate. Having held various board positions with fast-growing businesses across many sectors, Ward is focused on the financial and compliance elements of the company strategic plans. Utilising his wide network, he often undertakes projects for the company and, with his team, he assists with overseeing compliance.
